Learn CPR. Save a life!

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating.

Immediate CPR can double or triple chances of survival after cardiac arrest.

There are three main categories of CPR training promoted by the American Heart Association outside of the hospital environment:

  1. Hands-Only CPR – Hands-only CPR is a technique meant for use by the general public or bystanders who witness an adult or teen suddenly collapse, but have not received formal training in how to perform CPR. It is simple and better than nothing! Learn more here.
  2. Heartsaver CPR & AED – This level is intended for anyone without a healthcare background. It teaches you the basics of CPR & AED use by a lone rescuer.
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR & AED – This level is open to anyone, though designed for people more likely to need it such as EMS, Ski Patrol, nurses, and other rescuers. The BLS class dives a bit deeper into the material, including performing CPR (with AED) as part of a team of two or more rescuers.
