About Us
The Pickerel Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad, Inc. (PVFR) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit private company providing Fire & EMS services for our community. We are dispatched by the Langlade County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center in Antigo, WI. Our primary service area includes Ainsworth Township (Fire & EMS), the Town of Langlade (EMS), and the lower portion of the Town of Nashville (Fire & EMS).
Our department is structured such that EMS and Fire each conduct their respective day-to-day operations separately, but with cooperation and mutual support between the two groups. Our company is lead by a Board of Directors consisting of both Firefighters and EMS personnel, plus a Secretary and a Treasurer.
Our operations are heavily reliant on donations from community members like you!
Our Stations
We have three stations:
- Station #1 is co-located with the Nashville Community Center on Highway Q in Forest County. This station houses fire equipment.
- Station #2 is located on Highway 55, roughly halfway between County Road DD and County Road A. This station houses the ambulance.
- Station #3 is located on Johnson Rd, about 3/4 mile east of the Ainsworth Town Hall. This station houses fire equipment.
